When eyes meet eyes

“People will tell you to stop believing in an unpredictable love story. Love bombing, love at first sight, and deniable feelings”

I will tell you a story from mine. I always feel like I love everyone, I love everyone that I see on the train, at the airport, at the museum, or when just passing by each other in the street, and surprisingly it’s always the eyes meet eyes moment. The feeling when you see them like you know all of their stories and memories about someone they love.

One crisp autumn morning, as I boarded my usual train, I noticed a young man standing by the window, lost in thought. His eyes, a deep shade of brown, and dressed all green seemed to hold the weight of a thousand untold stories. As if drawn by an invisible force, our eyes met.

A blend of melancholy and hope, as though I was privy to his innermost dreams and fears.

I felt a warmth spread through me, his eyes were the wildest things I had ever seen, a connection that transcended the mundane reality of our surroundings. When the train reached its stop, I reluctantly tore my eyes away and stepped onto the platform, my heart still fluttering from the encounter.

Each pair of eyes I met added a new layer to my understanding of humanity, filling me with a profound sense of love and empathy.

One evening, while visiting a museum, I found myself drawn to a painting of a vast, serene landscape. Turning my head, I saw the same man from the train, his brown eyes meeting mine once again. The recognition was immediate, and we both smiled, a silence that felt so loud that day.

From that day on, the moments of eye contact I cherished continued to bring unexpected connections into my life.

Each encounter, whether brief or lasting, reinforced my belief in the power of silent communication and the unspoken bond that could be formed in a mere glance.
